ACCA FOUNDATION DIPLOMA
Programme Overview
The ACCA Foundation Diploma is an entry-level accountancy qualification offered by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is designed primarily for students in Pakistan and Bangladesh who wish to begin their journey towards a professional career in accountancy and finance.
The qualification provides students with a structured foundation in financial accounting, management accounting, business and financial management, preparing them for progression to the ACCA Qualification.
Qualification Structure
The ACCA Foundation Diploma consists of seven examinations together with the Foundations in Professionalism online module:

Students are recommended to complete FA1 and MA1 before progressing to FA2 and MA2, followed by FAB, FMA and FFA, as the earlier examinations provide the fundamental knowledge required for the higher-level papers.
Foundations in Professionalism
In addition to the seven examinations, students must complete the Foundations in Professionalism online module.
This interactive module develops students’ understanding of professional and ethical behaviour in the workplace. It is required for the award of the Foundation Diploma and only needs to be completed once.
Progression to the ACCA Qualification
Upon successful completion of the Foundation Diploma and the required Foundations in Professionalism module, students can progress to the ACCA Qualification.
Students completing the Foundation Diploma are transferred onto the ACCA Qualification and receive exemptions from the first three Applied Knowledge examinations:
- Business and Technology (BT)
- Management Accounting (MA)
- Financial Accounting (FA)
This provides students with a direct progression route towards the ACCA professional qualification.

Eligibility
In Pakistan, students who have completed Matriculation, Intermediate or equivalent qualifications may begin their journey through the ACCA Foundation Diploma. The programme is particularly suitable for students who do not yet meet the direct entry requirements for the ACCA Qualification.
Recognition in Pakistan
The ACCA Foundation Diploma is recognised within Pakistan’s national education framework. ACCA states that the Foundation Diploma provides a pathway towards Intermediate equivalence in the Commerce Group, subject to completion of the additional requirements prescribed under the relevant equivalence pathway.
Students seeking Intermediate equivalence should refer to the applicable requirements of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) and the relevant Board of Technical Education.
Career Foundation
The qualification provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills relevant to entry-level roles in accounting and finance and establishes a strong academic foundation for progression towards the ACCA Qualification and a professional career in accountancy.
Tuition Fees and Financial Support
Tuition fees payable to the external university must be paid directly to the University by the specified deadline. Students will receive full payment details and the relevant due date in their Acceptance Letter once admission to the programme has been confirmed. These tuition charges are payable each academic year throughout the degree.
TMUC’s institutional fees are collected separately on a yearly basis and can be paid in two installments as well, that is Aug/Sept and Dec/Jan.

A limited number of scholarships and financial concessions are available to eligible students under various categories that are Merit, Talent and Need Based. How long does it take to complete ACCA?
The duration varies depending on a student’s entry route, exemptions, examination progress and completion of ACCA’s professional requirements.
Can I join ACCA after Intermediate or A Levels?
Yes, eligible students may begin their ACCA journey after completing Intermediate, A Levels or an equivalent qualification, subject to ACCA’s entry requirements.
Can I join ACCA after Matric or O Levels?
Students who do not meet the direct entry requirements for ACCA may have alternative foundation-level pathways available, subject to eligibility.
Can I get exemptions from ACCA exams?
Yes. Students with relevant prior qualifications may be eligible for exemptions from certain ACCA examinations. Exemptions are determined by ACCA based on the qualification completed.
