Islamabad; July 17: Vice Admiral (Rtd) Asif Khaliq, Rector of Bahria University, highlighted the natural alignment between Bahria University and TMUC, a premier institution that imparts transnational education, describing both institutions as modern, ambitious, and driven by a shared vision of academic innovation. Speaking at the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony hosted at TMUC, he expressed confidence that this collaboration would unlock new avenues for faculty development, student exchange, and joint academic pursuits.
Today, The Millennium Universal College (TMUC) and Bahria University Islamabad formalized their institutional partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), at a ceremony held at TMUC Islamabad campus today. The agreement establishes a broad framework for cooperation in key academic areas, including student and faculty exchange, collaborative research, professional development, and co-hosting of conferences, seminars, and workshops.
During his remarks, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Asif Khaliq shed light on recent landmark initiatives at Bahria University, noting the inauguration of Pakistan’s first Maritime Science and Technology Park in Karachi and the rapid growth of its high-performing medical college in Islamabad. “With six thriving campuses nationwide and more underway, Bahria University remains committed to enriching Pakistan’s knowledge economy through research, innovation, and quality education,” he remarked.
On the occasion he commended the longstanding leadership role of Ambassador Masood Khan in promoting academic excellence and advancing Pakistan’s diplomatic interests globally.
Sardar Masood Khan, President of TMUC Higher Education Group, warmly welcomed Vice Admiral (Rtd) Asif Khaliq HI(M) and acknowledged Bahria University’s remarkable ascent since its inception. He praised the university’s contribution to academia and national development and reaffirmed TMUC’s dedication to educational excellence. “Bahria University stands as a beacon of higher learning in Pakistan,” Ambassador Masood Khan said, noting its rise among the top emerging universities worldwide.
Sardar Masood also outlined TMUC’s achievements since its establishment in 2015, highlighting its status as a premier transnational education provider in Pakistan. Citing TMUC’s collaborations with leading global universities—including the University of London, University of Hertfordshire, University for the Creative Arts— among others, he remarked, “This partnership symbolizes our shared commitment to internationalize higher education, empower our youth, and foster academic excellence and make Pakistan strong and respected higher education hub.”
Ms. Amna Salik, Dean of TMUC, in her vote of thank, addressed the gathering and reflected on the transformative potential of the agreement. “This MoU is a strategic gateway, but our collective ambition is to operationalize it into a meaningful ‘Memorandum of Implementation,’” she said. Ms. Salik conveyed her appreciation to Vice Admiral Asif Khaliq and Ambassador Masood Khan, stating, “Your vision and dedication to educational advancement inspire us to reach greater heights through this collaborative platform.”
The session was moderated by Ms. Verda Yousuf, Head of Alumni Relations and Industry Engagements at TMUC, who welcomed the distinguished guests and underscored the significance of the MoU. She termed the agreement a pivotal step toward expanding academic linkages, deepening research collaborations, and promoting innovation between two of Pakistan’s most forward-looking institutions.
As part of this landmark partnership, TMUC and Bahria University will collaborate extensively across a broad spectrum of academic initiatives. These include the development of joint academic programs, collaborative research in business, technology, and social sciences, as well as dynamic faculty and student exchange programs. The MoU also paves the way for the co-hosting of conferences, industry-focused workshops, and knowledge-sharing seminars, alongside the facilitation of internship placements, career development opportunities, and specialized skill-based certifications. Both institutions have committed to publishing joint research, engaging in impactful community outreach, and fostering links with national and international organizations to promote knowledge transfer and innovation. Dedicated Points of Contact (PoC) will be appointed to ensure streamlined coordination and effective implementation of joint initiatives.
