This level builds the foundation of accounting and business.

This level develops practical accounting and finance skills.

  1. Strategic Professional (4 papers)

This is the final level and focuses on strategic decision-making.

  • Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)

Options (Choose any 2):

  • Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
  • Advanced Performance Management (APM)
  • Advanced Taxation (ATX)
  • Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)

In addition to passing the exams, you must also complete:

  • The Ethics and Professional Skills Module (EPSM)
  • 36 months (3 years) of relevant practical work experience to become an ACCA member.

Not eligible for direct ACCA Qualification. Start with Foundations (Foundation-level awards).

Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICS/I.Com)

Eligible for direct entry into the ACCA Qualification (subject to ACCA’s qualification assessment).

A Levels

Eligible for direct entry if the required subject and grade criteria are met.

Bachelor’s degree (especially Accounting/Finance)

Eligible, and you may receive exemptions from some exams depending on your degree.

Who can apply for ACCA?

Students who meet ACCA’s minimum entry requirements can register directly. Those who do not may start through the Foundations route.

 

How many exams are there?

Under the new ACCA Qualification (from 2027):

  • Knowledge: 3 exams
  • Expertise: 5 exams
  • Strategic Professional: 3 exams (2 compulsory + 1 optional)

Students entering through Foundations complete additional Foundation-level exams before progressing.

How long does it take to complete ACCA?

Most students complete ACCA in 3–5 years, depending on how many exams they attempt each session, any exemptions they receive, and how quickly they complete the Practical Experience Requirement (PER).

 

Can I get exemptions?

Yes. Students with relevant diplomas or university degrees may be exempt from some ACCA exams. The number of exemptions depends on your qualifications.

What is the Practical Experience Requirement (PER)?

To become an ACCA member, you must complete the required exams, the ethics and employability requirements, and 36 months of relevant practical work experience
